On this trip, I've discovered a love of jewelry. Not that I am sure that I would ever wear it, but I love the window shopping. Here is one expedition I had. A name we have in the states too.

My downfall

Gift shops. We just got back from a trip to Normandy and Brittagne, it was beautiful, but we visited several chateaux and keeps and I am afraid I got a little excited in the gift shops. You'll never guess what I bought. Books? Ok, I guess you know me too well. I'm just glad my mom isn't on my credit card ;-) I got good stuff.

Another Day in the Park

We see a lot of parks in our walking around Paris. That's fine, because they are so pretty. This one especially, so it has several "ruins" that they built as ruins.

March Ensign

Ok, maybe it is because I go to church where I don't actually understand about half of what they are saying, but I've been reading this month's Ensign online and every article deeply touches me. Another explanation is that its my relationship with the Lord that is causing those feelings. This article is my favorite. I highly recommend the entire issue.

This picture reminds me of my mom too. This is by George de la Tour and it is called Saint Joseph Carpenter. I love the way the light shines on Jesus' face and the expression on Joseph's.

One more reason I don't smoke

I've had a little bit of a cold the last few days, so
walking around Paris, I didn't think too much of it
when I started sneezing a little. But then I kept
sneezing. Again and again. My eyes started to ache
and swell. Then I walked into the metro and I started
feeling better. After being inside for about half and
hour, I felt much better. My roommate said people were
smoking some funny stuff out there today. Not that I
could smell it, but my body sure could react to it!
Yes, I'm allergic. Crazy.

Panthéon and more

One of my favorite places in Paris is the Cluny museum. It is a fabulous little old church transformed into a museum (that happens a lot). It has the Unicorn tapestries I posted earlier. It also had the ruins of Roman Baths, which are pretty cool. Here are some pics of the back, there is a little park next to it, I don't think you can see it.


Here is the Sorbonne. The inside is closed to all but the professors and students because so many riots have started here.


Panthéon. This is an amazing building. I highly recommend it if you are ever in Paris.


Some really cool people are buried here. This one is Victor Hugo.

Saint-Etienne-du-Mont. Pascal (17th century mathematician and philosopher) and Racine (playwright) buried here.
