I subbed at a school today that had the worst planning I've seen. There were two streets that I had to take to get into the school, but that was the only way into the school, so there was only one way out and three crosswalks with crossing guards. So when school got out, it was just about impossible to get out unless you wait fifteen minutes. Then I went to the Home Depot and the parking lot had no straight lines to get to the actual street. Anyway.

Don't get me started on UDOT. I've yet to see good planning for some places around here. And while we're on the topic of bad traffic... what is up with the construction? I'm just curious.
Hey, I'm a city planner!! Here I come to save the day!
It's mind boggling sometimes how those things get approved and built. Most of the time the engineers design projects correctly but the construction contractors muff it up. Sadly it's those guys who build this stuff and usually, there's no engineer on hand to check if it's done right.
Or it could be some devious plan to keep you captive so you just buy, buy, buy. We are a consumer culture.
Hmm. Might work with some people, but when I feel like I'm trapped, I just get mad and don't ever want to come back. And how does that explain the school?
Cheri, get on that!!! Pretty sure that it's all about power and money.
And most times, when they have road construction happening in lots of places all at once, it could be because the agency doing the road improvements has a small window of time to do the improvements or they don't get the money to do it, so construction goes all at once. It totally sucks! It really is about money.
