When life you give you lemons,
Remember God gave you sugar.

Christopher Walken says . . .

"Careers are not often as chosen as people think they are. People talk to me about my choices. I don't make choices, hardly. Things happen, and you say yes or no - usually 'yes', because it's always better to do something. What's the choice? Somebody will say, 'Don't do that part, you don't need to do that part.' And I'll say, 'Why not? What am I going to do? Sit around the house? I'd much rather go to work, and see actors, and have fun."

This just seemed to fit my stage in life.

Game Time!

The job hunt has been pretty frustrating. So in my crazy search, I actually applied for a couple entertainment things. One of them paid off. Today I went to the filming of a Game Show. Bingo America, its on Game Show network. We filmed five shows, so if you watch it early to mid-September, you might see me. I actually get to put on a hat (denoting which team you are on) in one of the episodes, so cool.
The funny part was they told us to dress in skirts or suits and then we put giant t-shirts over them. Oh well.
I had a pretty good time, it was fun to be there. Of course there was lots of applause and I think I might not have much of a voice tomorrow, but I got paid for it.
It was a nice break from my job search, and I probably needed that.
And there was a Johnny Depp look alike. Anywhere else and I would have laughed.

You have the makings of an inventor, artist, religious leader, or prophet.

In love, you are sensitive and passionate. You connect with your partner on a very deep level.

You have great abilities, but you are often way too critical of yourself.

You don't fit in - and instead of celebrating your differences, you dwell on them.

You have high expectations of yourself. But sometimes you set them too high and don't achieve anything.

So I am now in California.I'm staying at my Uncle's until I find a job and place.  I am hoping to do both quickly. However, things are not looking absolutely fabulous.  I talked to one district that says for everything I don't have, I have a year to make up. However, there are other districts that require all the documentation before they hire. (apparently they are under state watch).  Which makes the hiring process much more difficult and frustrating, especially since I don't know which districts are sticklers and which are not, and you have to actually talk to the credential specialist in the district before you know. Crazy.I went to church yesterday. It was the smallest ward I have been too.  There were only two men passing the Sacrament!! My last ward (granted, it was huge) had eight men passing the Sacrament.  So that was a bit of a change.  But I met lots of people (it helps that everyone knows everyone) and definitely worked on that whole networking thing (I was in rare form last night, let me tell you).  I also went to the institute fireside and did more of the same.  Good luck to me!!The good news is I haven't totally freaked out that I don't have a job yet.  That is very good, becuase normally, I would be way beyond stressed right now.  I am feeling like everything will work out.  So I just keep plugging away and trying to figure out what exactly I am supposed to be doing out here.  I need to make some more phone calls and fill out some more applications, but at least I feel like I'm going the right direction. Something will present itself, now is just the time to work on my patience! (like I haven't been working on that for years)Anyway, that's about where I'm at. I have no clue what's going on or where I am supposed to be going, but I feel good about where I am. Weird.
