Around the Swamps

Yes, there are swamps in Paris. Ok, they've actually been drained, but they were swamps at one point. Here are some of the pictures I took wandering around Marais (the swamp area)

Hotel Sully - quite pretty. The design is very typical of the style at the time of Louis XIII

Victor Hugo by Rodin


This bust is inside Victor Hugo's house. Yes, I went in Victor Hugo's house! I learned lots of cool stuff about him, like he wouldn't model for this bust. He let Rodin follow him around and Rodin had to make sketches of the writer. Then he would run back to his studio and sculpt what he had drawn. Interesting!!
