A day at the museum

The Cluny Museum.
It was originally Roman baths, with hot, cold and tepid water. It was probably used for baths in the Medieval Times as well. There were all sorts of cool things that you couldn't touch (like seats for the priests so they looked like they were standing but weren't really) but the best part, and part of what the museum is known for are the tapestries of the lady of the unicorn. There are six tapestries. I thought that might be a bit much to put on my blog, considering they aren't the best pictures and there was no flash allowed. Though I could probably find them online if I tried. So here is the final tapestry in the series, called My One Desire

This picture is of an ancient backgammon set. Ok, I really just took this picture for my mom, because I knew she'd think it was cool. There is the backgammon board, a few pieces on the right, maybe some dice on the left and chess pieces in the middle.

There are more things to do in France than there is time to do them!!

Hello
I hope you don't mind me checking your blog. Thank you so much for putting the tapestry picture on your blog. Rhaevyn has been studying tapestries in her art course (the lady and unicorn ones). Sounds like you are having an awesome time. You are making me hungry with the food entry!

Are you actually going to class or anything like that? Or are these museum trips part of class?

Jennifer, I'm glad you are checking my blog! I tried looking up yours, but must have got the spelling wrong. I"ve seen some really great stuff, so keep coming back! Hopefully I'll get lots up, but I've taken hundreds of pictures already and I've only been here two weeks!!
Cherbear, yes, I'm actually going to class. But really the purpose of the trip is to see cool stuff. Seriously. One of my classes is an art class, so I have to go to museums for that and another is a "Walks" class, where the assignments are to walk around certain areas of Paris. Hard life, isn't it? Then I have a conversation class, a Church History in France class and a Moliere class, which is technically my french class, but totally fits with my theater studies. So classes are not really hard, I haven't figured out why. But I probably shouldn't ask ;-)

Wow, sounds nice! What an easy way to earn credits! And have some fun at the same time. Maybe the classes are not so hard because you are having a great time? Sounds good to me.
